How to Join Bist baspar Pipes and Fittings Together

Bist baspar pipes and fittings are joined together through fusion welding and in accordance with the DVS and DVN standards. All the items in the table must be observed during each stage of the welding process. After attaching an appropriate standard mold to its plate, connect the welding machine to an electrical outlet, and set its temperature to 260 ± 10 °C. After the machine has warmed up, which takes 20 to 30 minutes, the welding process can be started.

The mold and place of welding must be completely clean. Because the burned particles on them, cause welding to be done incompletely. If the ambient temperature is less than 5 °C, the heating time must be increased by up to 50%. And the device temperature must never be set to a temperature higher than the said temperature. Because if the device temperature is higher or lower than 260 ± 10 °C, molecular degradation or non-fusion occurs, respectively.

The Installation Stages

  1. Cut the pipes being used quite perpendicularly to their longitudinal axis, and remove any projections from the section which has been cut. Bear in mind that failure to cut them perpendicularly, causes changes in the depth of welding.
  2. Mark the welding depth on the pipe using a ruler or a steel measuring tape according to the welding guide table.
  3. Make the pipe and fitting reach the end of the welding machine’s mold, at the same time and under identical pressures. Be careful not to press the pipe into the mold farther than the marked point. Because the inner diameter of the pipe will be decreased, thus blocking the pipe.
  4. After the heating time, which is stated in the related table, is over, remove the pipe and fitting from the mold without rotating them, and immediately insert one inside the other up to the given welding depth, without twisting or rotating them.

The 5-layer pipe consists of two polymer layers, two adhesive layers, and an aluminum layer, in a way that the inner and outer layers are polymer layers that are combined with the intermediate layer which is made of aluminum.

  1. Polymer layers: The polymer used in Bist baspar five-layer pipes is a special type of polymer, which is bought from the most prestigious petrochemical companies in the world, and which has a very high capability of maintaining the the hygiene of drinking water.

Bist baspar Espadana’s 5-Layer Fittings

In the course of our growing trend, we have taken steps to manufacture different types of 5-layer fittings, for which we used brass ingots with a copper content of 58%, which are highly formable and suitable for production.

This along with use of completely upgraded turning machines has allowed us to produce fittings with beautiful designs and of excellent quality, and supply them into the market.

These fittings are manufactured in two types, and supplied into the market:

  1. Press fittings:

In this model, the steel ring on the fitting is pressed around the pipe using a press jaw system of the same size.

  1. Coupling fittings:

In this model, just by fastening the nut available on the fitting, the brass ring inside it is firmly fixed around the pipe.

How to Join Bist baspar’s 5-Layer Pipes and Fittings Together

Due to different methods of joining in press and coupling fittings, each of the fittings has a specific method for installation, whose initial stages are identical in both types of fittings.

First, cut the pipe to the size you need, using a pair of metal cutting scissors or a pipe cutter. Next, widen the inside of the pipe using a calibration tool. Then using the blades at the end of the calibration tool and through rotary motions, shape the inner wall of the pipe into a conical form. It is very important to do this. Because the pipe wall has a cutting surface before calibration, and may tear the rubber O-ring of the fitting at the time of installation, which can cause improper sealing and water leakage.

  1. Press fittings:

After completing all the steps above, insert the pipe into the press fitting. To ensure that the pipe is fully inserted into the steel ring, you can use the hole which is at the end of the steel ring. Then, press the steel ring on the pipe, using an electric (or hydraulic) press which has a jaw system of the same size as the pipe and fitting.

  1. Coupling fittings:

In the coupling model too, after completing all the initial steps, first, move the connecting nut and put it around the pipe. Next, put the special ring around the end of the pipe. Then, insert the pipe into the fitting, and tighten the nut using a flat and/or adjustable wrench.


Note: Before starting the pressing operation in coupling fittings, remove the steel ring to ensure the presence of the rubber O-ring on the fittings. The absence of the rubber O-ring causes problems in sealing the areas having undergone the pressing operation.

These pipes have the advantages of polymer pipes (referred to in the section of single-layer pipes). In addition, combination of metal and polymer has resulted in other advantages for the pipes, among which the following can be mentioned:

1- Due to their formability, these pipes are installed much faster and easier.

2- Due to their excellent capability of transferring heat from their walls, they are absolutely suitable for use in an underfloor heating system.
